We are seeking to recruit a motivated and detailed-oriented Junior Commercial Operations Officer to join our Commercial Operations Department.

The successful candidate will support the day-to-day commercial activities of the company, assist in coordinating communication between owners, charterers, agents, brokers, and related parties, prepare commercial documentation, and contribute to ensuring the smooth execution of operational and customer service processes.

This is an excellent opportunity for a dynamic individual wishing to develop a career within the shipping industry and gain hands-on exposure to commercial vessel operations.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Liaise with Masters, Charterers, Agents, and Brokers regarding daily vessel operations
  • Coordinate and monitor the day-to-day operational activities of assigned vessels
  • Monitor vessel performance and operational reporting
  • Review and process charterers’ hire statements
  • Review and process owners’ expenses included in hire statements
  • Process and verify invoices related to charterers, ship operations, and communication services through Shipnet Operations software
  • Handle Disbursement Accounts (DA), Master’s General Accounts (MGA) and Cash to Master (CTM)
  • Coordinate vessel bunker requirements and bunker supply arrangements
  • Maintain and update operational data relating to vessel performance
  • Monitor Vessel Reporting System through the company’s platforms, including KeelX, Shipnet, and Noon Reports
  • Ensure accurate record keeping and timely internal reporting

Key Qualifications

  • Degree in Shipping Economics, Maritime Studies, Business Administration, or related field; alternatively, a Mariner’s Certificate, or a Marine Degree with relevant accounting knowledge
  • Excellent command of the English language, both verbal and written
  • Strong organisational, analytical, and communication skills
  • Good understanding of the shipping industry operations and commercial functions
  • Ability to work both interdependently and as part of a team
  • Proactive mindset and willingness to learn and develop professionally
  • Responsible, cooperative, and able to manage multiple tasks effectively
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications; familiarity with Shipnet will be considered an advantage
