We are seeking a technically competent and detail-oriented Assistant Technical Superintendent to strengthen our Technical Department. In this role, you will play a key support function in ensuring the efficient, reliable, and cost-effective operation of our fleet, with particular focus on the effective implementation and monitoring of the Planned Maintenance System (PMS) and continuous vessel performance monitoring.
About the Role: The Assistant Technical Superintendent operates flexibly across the Technical Department without being assigned to specific vessels. You will provide critical backup support on technical and operational matters, responding promptly to the changing needs of the department and the fleet.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
• Monitor vessel performance with strong focus on speed, fuel consumption, and overall efficiency, identifying deviations and supporting improvement initiatives
• Closely monitor and oversee the Planned Maintenance System (PMS) across the fleet to ensure full compliance, effectiveness, and timely execution of maintenance activities
• Provide active assistance in dry-docking preparation and planning
• Maintain up-to-date libraries of vessel manuals, drawings, and technical documentation
• Handle purchasing procedures in the absence of the Technical Superintendent (with approval from Deputy Technical Manager or Technical Manager)
The Assistant Technical Superintendent is directly accountable to the Technical Manager or their back up during their absence.
Qualification Requirements
• Relevant maritime or engineering qualification (Bachelor’s degree or higher in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, or related field)
• Experience is not required – fresh graduates with strong academic background and genuine interest in ship management are welcome to apply
• Good understanding of ship operations and technical management (advantage)
• Strong analytical and organizational skills
• Proactive attitude with the ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
